Things they don't tell you about infants

Parenting infants can be extremely exhausting. Sleepless nights, always having to feed or change them. They are lots of fun too, playing, cuddling, sleeping, watching or holding them.

When my daughter was born, I remember thinking “this is easy, she sleeps all the time.” That changed fast! Waking up at all hours of night to nurse was the hardest. I went from having all the sleep I wanted to barely any sleep at all. The best advice is to sleep whenever you can, the dishes will wait!

Eating is challenging while holding a baby. I used to cut my food up before sitting at the table. When I had a shower my daughter would sit in her car seat or a laundry basket. Laundry baskets worked great I used them all the time.

Things you need to know when you have an infant. 1) If it is windy outside and you go for a walk it causes really bad gas in babies. 2) Gas gives babies a really sore stomach which seems to get worse when they are lying down. 3) Their cheeks turn red when they are teething. 4) Putting a clock that ‘ticks’ helps soothe babies at night. 5) Giving them a bath in the kitchen sink is a lot easier than the bathtub.
